The site is 4oo yards away from Carsington Water, which is Severn Trents latest reservoir to be built in the beautiful Derbyshire Dales countryside.

Carsington Water Visitor Centre has a variety of leisure pursuits including walking, cycling and pony trekking around the reservoirs perimeter, also there is canoeing, yachting, wind surfing and cycle hire.

In addition at the Visitors Centre there are numerous gift shops a café and a restaurant plus an excellent children’s play area. You can Trout Fish on the reservoir that is regarded as the Midlands premier Brown Trout Fishing Lake; boats can be hired at the centre. The reservoir holds excellent bird watching facilities including bird hides, one which has a remote zoom camera which feeds a T.V monitor in the hide, to get you closer to your favorite birds.

Ashbourne: An attractive market town and gateway to Dovedale is only 5 miles away. The Tissington and High Peak Trails start at Ashbourne and Wirksworth respectively offering beautiful off road walks and cycling.

There are many other attractions close at hand including The Heights of Abraham cable car ride, the Lead Mining M useum and Gulliver's Kingdom which are all in Matlock Bath (8.5 miles). Crich Tramway Museum (11 miles) is well worth a visit. Just a few miles away there are magnificent country houses including Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Kedleston Hall.
